BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-The Gulf South Conference named Christian Brothers University freshman forward Alex Trentman (Alexandria, Ky., Bishop Brossart HS) as its Freshman of the Week after a pair of close losses last week.

Trentman averaged 11.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists last week. He scored 11 points with six rebounds and three assists in 38 minutes in Thursday's 76-70 loss to No. 23 Alabama Huntsville, and he followed with 12 points, nine rebounds and two assists in Saturday's 73-71 loss at North Alabama. For the week, he shot 8-of-16 from the floor, including 4-of-9 from three-point range.

The Freshman of the Week award is Trentman's first. Fellow freshman forward Adam Dieball (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota East HS) has won the award seven times this season.

The Bucs close out the regular season Thursday night at 8 p.m. as they visit Union.
