Desi Owens starred in both basketball and volleyball from 1981 to 1985. While her statistics in volleyball are unavailable, she was a key player on four VSAC champions, including teams that reached the NAIA National Tournament three straight years, compiling a 123-24 record in the process. She was an All-Conference and All-District player on those teams. In basketball, she scored 1,290 career points with 495 rebounds in 106 games, leading CBC to a 72-37 record including the 1982-83 VSAC West crown. Owens is still CBU's leader in career field goals, and she ranks fifth in career scoring. She still holds the school single-season record with 220 field goals as a junior, and her 501 points that year rank third in school history today.
