TUCSON, Ariz. - Former Christian Brothers University baseball player
Travis Cole has signed a contract to play for the Tucson Saguaros.
The Saguaros participate in the independent
Pecos League, which consists of cities in desert mountain regions throughout California, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Southern Arizona, Kansas, West Texas and Colorado. Pecos Teams play in cities that do not have Major or Minor League Baseball teams and is not affiliated with either.
Cole wrapped up his CBU career having played in 118 games with 99 starts. The Tucson, Ariz., native spent three seasons as a utility player before focusing on his pitching during his senior campaign.
Cole earned three weekly honors from the Gulf South Conference, including a pair of Pitcher of the Week awards along with a Freshman of the Week nod. He was named GSC Pitcher of the Week on March 28 after earning a pair of saves in the same day against in-state rival Union.
During the 2023 season, Cole ranked second on the team with 52 strikeouts in 55 innings of work.
