Final Stats
Cleveland, MS - Ciara McGuiness scored four times and assisted on another and the Christian Brothers University Lady Buccaneer soccer team defeated Delta State 7-1 today.
CBU (2-8-2, 1-6 GSC) allowed an early goal to the Lady Statesmen but scored seven unanswered goals.
DSU (0-15, 0-6 GSC) got on the board in the seventh minute as Amy Gaines took a pass from Melissa Guillory for the match's first goal.
McGuiness scored in the 11th and 16th minute while Embla Gretarsdottir and Ashley Smith scored to give the Lady Bucs a 4-1 lead going into the break. McGuiness scored goals three and four just three minutes apart from each other while freshman Sara Senkbeil got her first collegiate goal in the 72nd minute.
Sarah Plummer started and Danielle Sines played the final 20 minutes in goal for the Lady Bucs. Gretarsdottir had a goal and two assists, while Senkbiel and Smith added a goal each. Kate Miller and Rachael Valenzuela each had an assist.
The Lady Bucs will be back in action on Friday, October 21 when they play host to Central Arkansas at 5 p.m.
