Ilari Scores Two And Bucs Defeat Delta State, 4-0

Cleveland, MS - Mariano Ilari scored twice in the first 25 minutes and the Christian Brothers University Buccaneer soccer team won 4-0 at Delta State today.

CBU (5-8-1, 2-3 GSC) scored three times in the first half and once in the second as they out shot Delta State 12-2 in the match.

DSU (2-14, 0-5 GSC) had a shot each from Ricardo Callendar and David Voravongsa.

Ilari scored just seven minutes in when the Bucs were awarded a penalty kick. He scored once more in the 24th minute when Brad Whitsitt lined up a pass for the Bucs' leading scorer. Rasaq Kuteyi picked up his first collegiate goal on a pass from James Fitzpatrick. Craig Clarkson scored in almost the identical time he did last Tuesday against Rhodes, taking a shot on passes from Nathan Chantara and Ryan Peel with just 53 seconds remaining in the match.

Daniel Foster started and Alex Balog played the second half as both combined for the shutout.

CBU will be back in action when they play host to GSC-leading Central Arkansas at 7:30 p.m. on October 21. UCA defeated Lincoln Memorial 5-0 at home today.
