Lady Bucs Fall At Alabama-Huntsville, 58-48

Huntsville, AL - Michelle Steele scored 10 points and pulled down seven rebounds, but the Christian Brothers University Lady Buccaneer basketball team fell on the road tonight to Alabama-Huntsville, 58-48.

CBU (1-1) trailed by four at the half, shooting just 22 percent from the field. The Lady Bucs made five three pointers to keep in the game.

Two free-throws from Mary Shea Hackett with 11:32 left tied and then gave the Lady Bucs a one point lead. A jumper from Huntsville's Hillary Luna, however, gave the Lady Chargers an 11 point lead with 3:26 left and UAH wouldn't look back.

UAH (1-1) had 16 points and 16 rebounds from Kellye Barr. Luna scored 13. The Lady Chargers shot 36 percent from the field and out rebounded CBU 48-36.

Steele went 4-10 from the field and a perfect 2-2 from beyond the three-point line. Erin Nigh scored nine points and added three rebounds. Kristen Kirkland had seven points, while Crystal Shelton added five points and seven rebounds.

The Lady Bucs will be back in action on Tuesday, November 22 when they travel to Lane College at 5:30 p.m.
