Lady Bucs End Regular Season With 3-1 Win At Union

Jackson, TN - The Christian Brothers University Lady Buccaneer volleyball team won its last match of the regular season today when they defeated Union University, three games to one.

CBU (23-13) hit .350 and .500 in games one and four en route to the four-game win. Game scores were 30-20, 30-24, 29-31 and 30-16.

Union moved to 17-16 on the year as the Lady Bucs defeated the Lady Bulldogs for the second time in a row.

Laura Washington led the offensive attack for CBU with 18 kills and four blocks, hitting .516 for the match. Hattie Schnackie had 10 kills and 21 digs, while Nan Kimbrell added 17 kills and 13 digs.

Lauren Amundson had 50 assists, while Aubrey Pancratz brought home 10 blocks. Bridget Buckley and Krista Gyarmati added 20 and 13 digs, respectively.

CBU will now prepare for the first round of the 2005 Gulf South Conference Volleyball tournament at Harding University. The Lady Bucs will face off with 6th ranked North Alabama at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, November 11 in the tournament's first match.

North Alabama is the No. 1 seed in the East and is 30-1 overall this season, going undefeated in its GSC matches.
