Florence, AL - The Christian Brothers University Lady Buccaneer basketball team out scored North Alabama 42-30 in the second half and defeated the Lions, 67-55 on the road tonight.
CBU (4-1) went in the locker room tied at 25 as 15 first-half turnovers doomed the the Lady Bucs. They shot 33 percent from the field in the half, and 57 percent from long range.
UNA (2-7) had eight steals in the first half. The Lions shot 33 percent from the field in the game, led by 18 points from freshman Amber Rutherford. Rutherford went 10-12 from the free-throw line.
The Lady Bucs shot 73 percent from the field in the second half en route to 52 percent from the field.
Crystal Shelton scored 20 points and had eight rebounds shooting 9-10 from the field. Mary Shea Hackett had 14 points while Kristen Kirkland had 10.
The Lady Bucs will be back in action this Saturday, December 10 as they take on LeMoyne-Owen at Bruce Hall. Game time is slated for 5:30 p.m.
