Bucs Drop Midweek Game At North Alabama, 7-3

Florence, AL - Kenny Ellis struck out nine, and John Raymond Hehn went 3-3 with two RBIs but the Christian Brothers University Buccaneer baseball team lost, 7-3 at North Alabama tonight.

CBU (11-6, 3-3 GSC) went down 4-0 after two, but scored three in the top of the eighth to cut the lead to 4-3. Bobby Lawrence walked to lead off the eighth. He advanced to second before Mark Foster got to first vian an error. Michael St. Cin loaded the bases with a single, and John Raymond Hehn drove in two with a double. Blake Christian drove in the third run of the inning with a sacrifice fly to right.

UNA (14-9, 0-0 GSC) answered right back with three runs in the bottom of the inning. Terry Pollard and AJ Reed drove in the runs for the Lions. Both had two RBIs in the game.  

Ellis went seven and two thirds of an inning and allowed six earned runs, while striking out nine and walking just two. Bobby Daush pitched a third of an inning in relief.

Hehn drove in two and had three hits, while Charlie Soukup added two hits of his own. Foster and St. Cin had a hit each.

CBU will be back in action this Saturday, March 18 and Sunday, March 19 when the Bucs travel to Arkansas Tech to take on the Wonder Boys.
