Final Stats
Russellville, AR - Arkansas Tech scored three runs over the seventh and eighth innings and the Christian Brothers University Buccaneer baseball team dropped the third game of a weekend series to the Wonderboys, 10-7.
CBU (13-8, 4-5 GSC) scored first when John Raymond Hehn hit a two-run homer in the opening inning. Tech answered with two runs in their half of the first, but the Bucs went back ahead in the third with two more runs.
Tech (13-12, 3-6 GSC) scored three more in the fourth to take a 5-4 lead. CBU scored three in the top of the fifth on a two run single from Matt Trouy and an RBI double from Mark Foster.
The Wonderboys, like they had done all weekend, again answered back with two more runs in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game. Tech scored the go-ahead run in the seventh when Aaron Hopkins singled home Craig Cameron. The Wonderboys added two more insurance runs in the eighth and Drew Buford picked up his second save of the year with a scoreless ninth.
Hehn had a homer, a double, two runs scored and two RBIs in the loss. Trouy had two hits and two RBIs, while Foster added a double and an RBI. Charlie Soukup drove in one and Bobby Lawrence scored once.
Shawn Morgan started and went four and a third innings. Bobby Daush pitched two and a third allowing one unearned run in picking up his first loss of the season.
The Bucs will be back in action when they play host to Central Arkansas in a non-conference game on Wednesday, March 22 at 2 p.m. on Buc Field.
