Russellville, AR - The Christian Brothers University Lady Buccaneer softball team ran into some strong pitching and were shut out in both games of a double-header with Arkansas Tech, losing 2-0 and 7-0.
CBU (7-9, 0-4 GSC) got hits from Paula Cerrito and Lauren Zavelli as Tech starter Lindsey Klabacha thre a complete-game shutout.
Kallie McFatter started for CBU and had a no hitter into the fourth inning when the Golden Sun scored two runs off the CBU freshman. McFatter struck out one and allowed just four hits in the tough loss.
The Lady Bucs got two his from Michelle Paul in game two, but couldn't get out of their offensive slump and fell 7-0. Tia Shores, McFatter and Hannah Shackelford had a hit each.
Nikki Dunn started but went just one inning, allowing two earned runs. Mandy Presson and McFatter pitched in relief for CBU.
The Lady Bucs will be back in action on Friday and Saturday, March 10 and 11 when they travel to Arkansas-Monticello for a double-header with the Cotton Blossoms.
