Lady Bucs Split With Henderson State

Arkadelphia, AR - The Christian Brothers University Lady Buccaneer softball team got two superb pitching performances from Nikki Dunn and Kallie McFatter today, but split with Henderson State University, losing game one 1-0, but rebounding to win game two, 3-2.

CBU (18-28, 6-23) game one starter Nikki Dunn went all six innings, allowing just four hits and one run, a home run to Kelcie Glidden in the first inning. She struck out 12 and walked three.

Hannah Shackelford went 2-3 in game one. Tia Shores and Sammy Maness had a hit each.

HSU (30-12, 14-9 GSC) starter Anna Lamb went seven innings and held the Lady Bucs to just four hits in game one, while striking out six and walking none.

Tia Shores went 2-3 in game two as the Lady Bucs scored two in the first and one in the third en route to a 3-2 win. Meagan Shackleford drove in one with a sacrifice fly in the first. Jenny Bernard, Paula Cerrito and Michelle Paul all scored once. Paul had two hits.

McFatter started in game two and scattered six hits, allowing one earned run to earn her seventh win of the season. She went all seven and struck out two.

Both teams will be back at it tomorrow, April 14 with a double-header beginning at 1 p.m.
