Bucs Lose First Game At Southern Arkansas, 10-6

Magnolia, AR - The Christian Brothers University Buccaneer baseball team scored five late runs, but couldn't overcome an early deficit and fell 10-6 at Southern Arkansas today. Originally slated for a double-header, only one game was played due to rain.

CBU (24-20, 10-12 GSC) went up 1-0 in the first, when John Raymond Hehn flied out to right scoring Mark Foster.

Southern Arkansas (32-15, 14-7 GSC) scored seven runs over the second, third and fourth innings.

The Bucs scored once in the sixth when Ryne Dahlke doubled down the left field line scoring Hehn. CBU added three runs in the eighth and one more in the ninth. Dahlke again doubled down the line advancing Nick Ely to third. Austin Baker then singled up the middle scoring both Ely and Dahlke. Matt Trouy moved Baker to third with a single of his own, and Baker scored on a fielder's choice.

Michael St. Cin homered to start the ninth for the Bucs. Blake Christian went 2-4, while Dahlke had three hits, a run and an RBI. Baker drove in two and Trouy had two hits.

Charlie Soukup started and went six innings for the Bucs. Matt Smith and Bobby Daush pitched the final two innings.

Both teams will be back in action tomorrow, April 30 with a double-header slated to begin at 1 p.m.
