Decatur, AL - The Christian Brothers University Lady Buccaneer softball team lost 6-3 to West Florida and 9-1 to West Alabama. They fall to 0-4 in the GSC Crossover.
CBU (17-24, 5-19 GSC) was down 2-0 after five innings today against West Florida before the Argonauts scored four runs in the sixth to go up 6-0. The Lady Bucs answered back, however, with three runs in the top of the seventh, but left a runner on when the game ended.
Lauren Hearn drove in Tia Shores for the team's first run, while Jenny Bernard had a two run double scoring Kallie McFatter and Paula Cerrito. McFatter started and went seven innings, striking out three in the loss.
UWF (25-12, 13-5 GSC) got a complete game win from Erica Laxson. Moira Gustin went 2-3 with a run and three RBIs.
UWA (12-24, 3-16 GSC) got two runs in the top of the first, but used a six run fifth inning to put away the Lady Bucs 9-1 in six innings.
Shores went 2-3 with a home run and a double in the loss. She scored once and drove in one.
The Lady Bucs will be back in action tomorrow with games with Alabama-Huntsville at 1 p.m. and Lincoln Memorial at 7 p.m.
