Bucs Split Double-Header With Harding

Searcy, AR - The Christian Brothers University Buccaneer baseball team split a double-header today at Harding University losing game one 2-1, but rebounding to win game two, 2-0.

CBU (20-13, 9-8 GSC) had two runners on in the bottom of the ninth of game one, trailing 2-1, but couldn't push a run across. John Raymond Hehn was 3-3 with an RBI in the game. Andrew Griffy had two hits, while five other Bucs had a hit each.

Charlie Soukup started and went six innings, striking out nine and walking just two. Bobby Daush pitched two innings in relief.

HU (17-20, 3-11 GSC) got just five hits in game two as Kenny Ellis shut out the Bison for his fifth win of the year. Blake Christian had a two run double in game two.

Ellis went all seven innings, striking out four.

Both teams will be back in action tomorrow for a 1 p.m. start.
