Arkansas Tech defeated the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs 3-0 in the Lady Bucs' first Gulf South Conference West Division road match of the season Friday night in Russellville, Ark.
The Golden Suns (11-6, 1-1 GSC West) scored six out of seven points after CBU (7-7, 0-2) had taken an 8-7 lead in game one and they never looked back, winning 30-20, 30-14, 30-20.
Senior middle blocker Laura Washington (Seattle, Wash./Garfield HS) had 10 kills as she hit .474 for CBU, while senior outside hitter Krista Gyarmati (Phoenix, Ariz./Shadow Mountain HS) had a match-high 11 digs. Senior setter Lauren Amundson (Stanwood, Wash./Stanwood HS) had 26 assists.
Rachael Urquhart had 15 kills to lead the Golden Suns, while Natosha Saltus had 14 and Dana Florin added 12. Kayla Allison had 48 assists.
The Lady Bucs will return to the court Saturday afternoon when they visit Ouachita Baptist at 1 p.m.
