Lady Bucs Top UWA 3-1

Final Stats

MEMPHIS--The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs volleyball team defeated West Alabama 3-1 in a non-conference match Tuesday night in Livingston, Ala., giving CBU a 2-1 edge in the season series.

The Lady Bucs (9-7) had won the first match 3-0 at Canale Arena in August, while the Lady Tigers (4-12) returned the favor with a 3-1 win of their own earlier this month in Huntsville, Ala. The Lady Bucs won the final meeting 30-23, 22-30, 30-25, 30-27.

Sophomore Jenna Cherry (Covington, La./Covington HS) had 12 kills and three service aces to lead the Lady Bucs, and sophomore Aubrey Pancratz (Chandler, Ariz./Corona del Sol HS) added 11 kills and five blocks. Senior Lauren Amundson (Stanwood, Wash./Stanwood HS) had 35 assists. Senior Krista Gyarmati (Phoenix, Ariz./Shadow Mountain HS) collected 26 digs and added nine kills.

Teresa Clements led West Alabama with 21 kills, while Nici Steckel had 17. Jacquie Swan had a match-high 34 digs.

CBU returns to the court this weekend when they host Henderson State Saturday afternoon and Southern Arkansas Sunday afternoon. Both matches are set to start at 1 p.m.
