MONTICELLO, Ark.--Four players reached double figures in kills as Arkansas-Monticello outlasted the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs 3-1 in Gulf South Conference West Division volleyball action Saturday afternoon.
The Cotton Blossoms (8-13, 1-5 GSC West) won the match 30-21, 18-30, 30-19, 34-32, coming back from as much as a six-point deficit in the final game.
Junior outside hitter Jenna Cherry (Covington, La./Covington HS) led the Lady Bucs (10-15, 0-6) with 13 kills. She also collected 12 digs, tying freshman right-side hitter Danielle Gennett (Memphis, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) for second on the team behind junior libero Bridget Buckley (Parker, Colo./Chaparral HS). Junior middle blocker Aubrey Pancratz (Chandler, Ariz./Corona del Sol HS) added 12 kills and hit a match-best .400 for CBU.
Kameshia Melton led UAM with 18 kills, while Taura Rush, MacKenzie Willis, and Nicole Ferguson added 13 each. Setter Vikki Crisco led UAM with 55 assists and 13 digs.
The Lady Bucs will be at Canale Arena for their next two matches. They host Henderson State Thursday night at 6 p.m., and they welcome defending NCAA Division II runner-up North Alabama Saturday evening at 6 p.m.
