Final Stats

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.--The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs lost by identical 3-1 scores Saturday afternoon to Alabama-Huntsville and Francis Marion in the UAH/Country Inn and Suites Invitational.

Playing without two starters, the Lady Bucs (10-8) lost 30-20, 30-27, 26-30, 30-25 to host Alabama-Huntsville (5-11) in their first game Saturday.  Sophomore Hanna Orendorff (Renton, Wash./Liberty HS) led CBU with 16 kills, while freshman Michelle Hein (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol HS) collected 42 assists while filling in at setter.  Junior libero Bridget Buckley (Parker, Colo./Chaparral HS) collected a match-high 21 digs.  Freshman Logan Westphal (Herndon, Va./Herndon HS) had 11 kills and 11 digs, while Hein, junior Jenna Cherry (Covington, La./Covington HS), and freshman Danielle Gennett (Memphis, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) each had 10 digs.

In the final match of the day, Francis Marion (5-13) took a 26-30, 30-27, 30-19, 30-21 win over CBU behind 21 kills from Krissy Mordini.  Hein set a new career-high with 45 assists.  Cherry had 12 kills and 12 digs, while Buckley had a team-high 16 digs.

The Lady Bucs will be back in action Tuesday night as they open GSC West play at Henderson State at 6 p.m.  They return home Thursday night to host Ouachita Baptist at 6 p.m.
