Final Stats

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga.--For the second time in as many games, goals by senior forward Matt Werakso (Wollongong, Australia) and junior forward Oisin Crean (Dublin, Ireland) gave the Christian Brothers University Bucs a 2-0 victory Saturday evening over Flagler College.

Werakso scored first in the 30th minute as he converted the rebound from a Ryan Peel (Mission, B.C./Hatzic Secondary) free kick to give CBU (5-2) a 1-0 lead.

Just 49 seconds into the second half, Crean scored the game's final goal off a long pass from Werakso, giving the Bucs a 2-0 victory.

Goalkeeper Daniel Foster (Gallatin, Tenn./Gallatin HS) made two saves as he earned his fourth shutout of the season.

The Bucs only out-shot the Saints (0-6-1) 13-12, but they held a 5-2 margin in shots on goal.

CBU will be back in action next Saturday when they visit Northeastern State (Okla.) at noon.  CBU returns home Tuesday, Sept. 25, for their GSC opener against Delta State at 7 p.m.
