ARKADELPHIA, Ark.--Host Henderson State earned a 3-0 victory over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Tuesday night in the Gulf South Conference West Division opener for both schools.
The Lady Reddies (11-3, 1-0 GSC West) used 20 kills from reigning GSC West Offensive Player of the Week Edith Musebe to take a 30-17, 30-16, 30-17 win over CBU. Ivana Mali added 16 kills for the Lady Reddies, while reigning GSC West Defensive Player of the Week Bethany Wright collected a match-best 11 digs.
Junior libero Bridget Buckley (Parker, Colo./Chaparral HS) led the Lady Bucs (10-9, 0-1) with 10 digs. Freshman Michelle Hein (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol HS) had 16 assists for CBU.
Tuesday's match was the Lady Bucs' 13th straight on the road, and CBU returns home Thursday night to face Ouachita Baptist at 6 p.m.
