Lady Tigers Top Lady Bucs in Four

Whitney Weyhrich's 46 assists and 17 digs weren't enough as the Lady Bucs dropped a four-set match to Ouachita Baptist Tuesday night.
MEMPHIS—Visiting Ouachita Baptist started strong and never looked back as they cruised to a 3-1 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Tuesday night in Gulf South Conference West Division volleyball action.

The Lady Tigers (7-20, 2-6 GSC West) jumped out to a 13-2 lead in the first set over a sluggish Lady Buc (19-7, 5-3) squad.  The final three sets were closer, with OBU winning the second set and the final set by 25-20 scores, while the Lady Bucs took set three 25-23.

Whitney Weyhrich (Lincoln, Neb./North Star HS) led CBU with 46 assists and 17 digs, match-highs in both categories.  Hanna Orendorff (Renton, Wash./Liberty HS) had 14 kills, while Michelle Hein (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol HS) had 12 kills and 11 digs.  Jenna Cherry (Covington, La./Covington HS) recorded a match-high seven blocks to go with 11 kills, and Kelsey Green (Memphis, Tenn./St. Agnes Academy) picked up 11 digs.  Aubrey Pancratz (Chandler, Ariz./Corona del Sol HS) added 11 kills as well.

Meredith Henry led OBU with 16 kills, followed by 14 from Libby Merritt.  Lexie Hegi had 11 kills, 40 assists, and 10 digs.

The Lady Bucs will step out of GSC West action Thursday night as they visit Mississippi Valley State at 7 p.m.  They come home Saturday at 1 p.m. for a GSC West match against Southern Arkansas.
