Lady Bucs Outlast Pipers In Four

Hein's 13 kills, 13 digs lead the way

Jenna Cherry had 10 kills, 12 digs, and nine blocks as the Lady Bucs rolled to a four-set win over Lyon.
MEMPHIS—Sophomore outside hitter Michelle Hein (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol HS) had 13 kills and 13 digs to help the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs to a 3-1 win over Lyon Tuesday night at Canale Arena.

The Lady Bucs (4-1) won the first two sets easily, 25-18 and 25-19, before dropping the third set 25-23. They rallied to win set four and the match 25-21.

Hein hit .357 and added four blocks to her 13 kills. Senior outside hitter Jenna Cherry (Covington, La./Covington HS) turned in a strong performance as well, with 10 kills, 12 digs, nine blocks, and a .450 hitting percentage. Freshman setter Whitney Weyhrich (Lincoln, Neb./North Star HS) collected 41 assists.

For the match, the Lady Bucs hit .210 with 52 kills, and they combined for 11 blocks.

The Lady Bucs will be back in action this weekend in the UAH/Country Inn & Suites Classic in Huntsville, Ala. They will face West Alabama and Alabama-Huntsville Friday and West Georgia Saturday afternoon.
