ARKADELPHIA, Ark.—The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs won their seventh straight match Thursday night, defeating host Ouachita Baptist 3-1 in their first Gulf South Conference West Division road match of the year.
The Lady Bucs (14-4, 2-0 GSC West) won the first set 25-16, but dropped the second set 25-17 to the Lady Tigers (1-14, 0-2). They won the final two sets 25-15 and 29-27 to win the match and start 2-0 in GSC West play after dropping their first 11 in conference play last year.
Senior
Aubrey Pancratz (Chandler, Ariz./Corona del Sol HS) led the way with 13 kills, two aces, and six blocks, while freshman
Kelly Nolan (St. Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain HS) had 10 kills and a match-high 20 digs. Senior
Jenna Cherry (Covington, La./Covington HS) also added 10 kills, while freshman setter
Whitney Weyhrich (Lincoln, Neb./North Star HS) had 35 assists.
Meredith Henry led OBU with 20 kills, while Lauren Stuart had 17 digs.
The Lady Bucs will have a week off before they host six-time defending GSC West champion Harding Thursday night, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m.
