Box Score MEMPHIS—The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs hit .376 as a team as they rolled to a four-set win over Lyon Tuesday night, extending their winning streak to four matches.
The Lady Bucs (12-10) took control early, winning the first set 25-15 and the second set 25-19. After Lyon (10-20) edged CBU 25-23 in the third set, the Lady Bucs won 25-14 to finish the victory.
Leigh Stavrum (Chattanooga, Tenn./Notre Dame HS) and
Logan Westphal (Herndon, Va./Herndon HS) led the Lady Bucs with 10 kills each, while
Alison Welch (Olive Branch, Miss./Olive Branch HS) added nine.
Kelsey Miles (Cordova, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) collected 49 assists, while
Michelle Hein (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol HS) paced the defense with nine digs.
Suzanne Fincham and Chelsea Hinton led the Scots with 10 kills each. Danielle Reed had 32 assists, while Audrey Myers logged a team-high nine digs.
The Lady Bucs' .376 hitting percentage is the sixth-best in a match in school history, their highest since hitting .407 last November against LeMoyne-Owen.
The Lady Bucs hit the road Thursday night as they resume GSC West play at Henderson State at 6 p.m. Their next home match is set for Tuesday night at 6 p.m. against Ouachita Baptist.
