Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark.—Five Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs reached double figures in kills as the Lady Bucs won their fifth straight match Thursday night, topping Henderson State in four sets to remain in first place in the Gulf South Conference West Division.
The Lady Bucs (13-10, 6-1 GSC West) took control early with a 25-19 win in the first set, but HSU (11-10, 3-4) answered with a 25-22 win in the second set. The Lady Bucs won the third set by a commanding 25-12 margin, and they claimed victory in the fourth set by winning 25-17.
Lizzie McLean (Munford, Tenn./Munford HS) and
Michelle Hein (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol HS) led the offense with 11 kills each, while
Kaitlin Keathley (Henderson, Nev./Silverado HS),
Hailey Gillis (Corpus Christi, Texas/Carroll HS), and
Kelly Nolan (St. Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain HS) added 10 each.
Corinne Doder (St. Louis, Mo./Cor Jesu Academy) had a match-best 25 digs to pace the defense, and Hein added 10.
Kelsey Miles (Cordova, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) dished out 48 assists as the Lady Bucs hit .214.
Ashley Totten led HSU with 24 digs, while Robin Law had a team-high 11 kills to go with 11 digs.
The Lady Bucs return to the court Tuesday night at Canale Arena with a 6 p.m. match against Ouachita Baptist.
