Box Score MEMPHIS—The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs rolled to a three-set win over Arkansas-Monticello to remain in first place after the first half of the Gulf South Conference West Division schedule.
The Lady Bucs (11-10, 5-1 GSC West) steadily expanded their lead in the first set, winning 25-18. They jumped out to a commanding 11-2 lead in the second set, holding on for a 25-20 win before outlasting UAM 25-21 in a back-and-forth third set.
Kelly Nolan (St. Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain HS) paced the Lady Bucs with eight kills as 11 different Lady Bucs recorded a kill.
Corinne Doder (St. Louis, Mo./Cor Jesu Academy) led the defense with a match-best 22 digs, while
Kelsey Miles (Cordova, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) had 28 assists.
The Lady Bucs are 5-1 in conference play for the first time since joining the Gulf South Conference in 1996. The Lady Bucs' previous best start was in 2008, when they were 4-2 in the first half of the conference slate.
The Lady Bucs step out of GSC West play Tuesday night as they welcome Lyon to Canale Arena for a 7 p.m. match.
