Box Score 2 FLORENCE, Ala.—The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs dropped a pair of three-set matches in the University of North Alabama Classic Friday against Gulf South Conference East Division opponents West Florida and North Alabama.
In the first match, the Argos (5-3) led virtually the whole way in a 25-18, 25-20, 25-23 sweep, though they stayed within striking distance.
Corinne Doder (St. Louis, Mo./Cor Jesu Academy) led the Lady Bucs with 15 digs, while
Kelly Nolan (St. Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain HS) added 12.
Lizzie McLean (Munford, Tenn./Munford HS) and
Hailey Gillis (Corpus Christi, Texas/Carroll HS) paced the offense with eight kills each, while
Kelsey Miles (Cordova, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) had 22 assists.
There were 24 ties and 11 lead changes in the nightcap, but the host Lions (6-3) claimed a 25-21, 25-19, 25-21 win.
Doder again paced the Lady Bucs' defense with 14 digs, and Nolan chipped in with 12. McLean and
Michelle Hein (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol HS) had six kills each to lead the offense, and Miles had 18 assists.
The Lady Bucs travel to Huntsville, Ala., tomorrow to play in the UAH/Country Inn & Suites Invitational against Valdosta State at 9 a.m. and West Georgia at 2 p.m. They return home Tuesday night for their GSC West opener at 6 p.m. against Henderson State.
