Box Score 2 HUNTSVILLE, Ala.—The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs dropped a pair of four-set matches Saturday in the University of Alabama-Huntsville/Country Inn & Suites Classic Saturday against Valdosta State and West Georgia.
In the first match, the Lady Bucs (5-9) won the first set 25-20, but VSU (6-4) won the last three sets 25-20, 25-15, and 25-17.
Kelly Nolan (St. Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain HS) and
Michelle Hein (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol HS) logged nine kills each to lead the Lady Bucs' offense as
Kelsey Miles (Cordova, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) had 30 assists.
Corinne Doder (St. Louis, Mo./Cor Jesu Academy) was the lone Lady Buc to reach double figures in digs with 12.
In the second match, West Georgia (3-10) won the first set 29-27, but the Lady Bucs rolled to a 25-11 win to tie the match at one. UWG won a pair of close sets, 25-22 and 25-20, to pick up the victory.
Nolan led the Lady Bucs with 16 kills, and
Hailey Gillis (Corpus Christi, Texas/Carroll HS) added 13. Miles had 42 assists and tied Doder and Hein for the team lead in digs with 15, while Nolan added 12.
The Lady Bucs will return to the court Tuesday night at 6 p.m. as they open GSC West play against Henderson State.
