Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark.—The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs moved to 2-0 in Gulf South Conference West Division play Thursday night with a five-set come-from-behind win at Ouachita Baptist. The 2-0 start is the Lady Bucs' second in three years and just their second in 15 years in the GSC.
Ouachita Baptist (11-2, 0-2 GSC West) seized control early by winning the first set 25-18 after the set saw 12 ties and a pair of lead changes. In the second set, the Lady Bucs (7-9, 2-0) jumped out to a 10-4 lead and rolled to a 25-18 win to even the match. OBU claimed a 25-23 win in the third set, but the Lady Bucs jumped to a 5-0 lead and never trailed in winning the fourth set 25-17. In the decisive fifth set, the Lady Bucs jumped to a 10-4 lead and held on for the 15-10 win.
Michelle Hein (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol HS) led the Lady Bucs with 15 kills and 15 digs, while
Alecia Stewart (Rochester, Minn./Century HS) turned in a career-high 10 kills.
Corinne Doder (St. Louis, Mo./Cor Jesu Academy) led the defense with 24 digs, while
Kelly Nolan (St. Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain HS) added 19.
Kelsey Miles (Cordova, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) collected 52 assists.
The Lady Bucs step out of GSC West play Tuesday night as they host Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Their next GSC match is at home against Harding next Thursday.
