Box Score MEMPHIS—Harding outlasted the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs in a three-set Gulf South Conference West Division match that featured 21 ties and 12 lead changes Thursday night at Canale Arena.
In the first set, the Lady Bisons (7-8, 2-1 GSC West) pulled away to a 25-15 win by scoring 12 of the last 16 points. In set two, Harding never led by more than five points, but they held out for a 25-21 win in a back-and-forth set. The Lady Bisons edged CBU (8-10, 2-1) 25-23 in the final set, which also saw no lead of more than five points.
Corinne Doder (St. Louis, Mo./Cor Jesu Academy) paced the Lady Bucs' defense with 26 digs, just one off the three-set school record set by Breanne Boyd against Ouachita Baptist in 2002, when sets were played to 30 points.
Kelly Nolan (St. Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain HS) added 13 digs, while
Michelle Hein (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol HS) contributed 10. Hein and
Kaitlin Keathley (Henderson, Nev./Silverado HS) led the Lady Bucs offensively with eight kills each, while
Kelsey Miles (Cordova, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) had 28 assists.
Mollie Arnold led three Harding players in double figures with 12 kills. Emily Tate logged a team-best 21 digs, and Amber Schinzing had 37 assists.
The Lady Bucs hit the road Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. to take on Southern Arkansas.
