Box Score 2 PENSACOLA, Fla.—The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs split a pair of four-set matches Saturday in the University of West Florida Regional Crossover, winning over Lynn and falling to Eckerd.
In the first match, all four sets were evenly-played. Lynn (10-8) won the opener 25-21, and the Lady Bucs (19-6) knotted the match at one set each with a 25-22 win in the second set. The Lady Bucs won the last two sets 25-20 and 25-21 to claim victory.
Kelly Nolan (St. Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain HS) led the Lady Bucs with 13 kills and 14 digs, both match-highs.
Kaitlin Keathley (Henderson, Nev./Silverado HS) and
Hailey Gillis (Corpus Christi, Texas/Carroll HS) logged 11 kills each, and
Lizzie McLean (Munford, Tenn./Munford HS) added 10.
Kelsey Miles (Cordova, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) had 48 assists, and
Corinne Doder (St. Louis, Mo./Cor Jesu Academy) added 12 digs.
Brittany Brown led Lynn with 13 kills, and Brianna Cox had 10. Abbey Brokop posted team-highs of 38 assists and 11 digs.
In the second match, Eckerd (16-3) took an early lead with a 25-23 win in the first set and a 25-21 win in set two. The Lady Bucs answered with a 25-21 win of their own in the third set, but Eckerd clinched the victory with a 25-16 win in the fourth set.
Gillis led the Lady Bucs with 10 kills to go with her 13 digs. Nolan collected 14 digs to go with six kills, and Doder gathered a team-high 17 digs. Miles posted a match-best 37 assists.
Ariana Chinn led the Tritons with 13 kills, while Lindsay Briggs added 12 kills to her 10 digs. Madison Burr led the team with 25 assists, and Hallie Ward recorded a match-high 18 digs.
The Lady Bucs return to GSC action Tuesday night at 7 p.m. when they host North Alabama.
