Lady Bucs Sweep Union

Lizzie McLean hit .643 with nine kills to lead the Lady Bucs to a three-set win at Union Tuesday night.
Box Score JACKSON, Tenn.—The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs hit .280 as they rolled to a three-set sweep of Union Tuesday night as they moved back into a tie for first place in the Gulf South Conference.

The Lady Bucs (11-4, 6-1 GSC) took control with a 25-15 win in the first set, and they followed with a 25-16 win in the second set.  In the third set, they built a 16-8 lead and held on for a 25-20 win.

Lizzie McLean (Munford, Tenn./Munford HS) hit .643 with nine kills for the Lady Bucs, while Alison Welch (Olive Branch, Miss./Olive Branch HS) logged a match-best 10 kills to go with eight digs.  Corinne Doder (St. Louis, Mo./Cor Jesu Academy) collected a match-high 11 digs, and Kelsey Miles (Cordova, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) picked up 41 assists.

Savannah Hughes led Union (3-11, 0-7) with seven kills, and Linsey Mirtsching posted a team-best 10 assists.

The Lady Bucs wrap up the first half of the GSC schedule Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. when they visit North Alabama.  The Lady Bucs' next home match is Friday night, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m. against West Alabama.
