JACKSON, Tenn.-Playing in her hometown, Christian Brothers University sophomore guard
Rachel Lee (Jackson, Tenn., Jackson Christian School) scored a career-high 22 points to lead the Lady Bucs to a 60-59 win over Stillman in the first game of the Union University Lady Bulldog Thanksgiving Classic Friday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• Stillman (2-2) jumped to a10-0 lead in the game's first four minutes, and they never trailed in the first quarter, leading by as many as 11 points at 19-8.
• Lee sank a three-pointer to spark an 18-4 run that left the Lady Bucs (1-1) ahead 26-23 on a pair of
Ashley Schaefer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore HS) free throws with 4:03 remaining in the first half.
• CBU began to pull away in the third quarter, as three straight
Samantha Reeves (Somerville, Tenn./Fayette Academy) buckets sparked an 11-2 run capped by another Lee triple that gave the Lady Bucs a 50-41 edge with 55 seconds to play in the quarter, which would prove to be their largest of the game.
• The Lady Tigers whittled the lead back to one point when Shenia Battle made a three-pointer with 3:24 remaining, but an
Alexis Haddock (Collinwood, Tenn./Collinwood HS) offensive rebound led to another Reeves layup to give CBU a 58-55 lead with 1:53 remaining, and Reeves made a pair of free throws with 1:07 remaining to extend the lead to 60-55.
• Stillman's Joclyn Ramos and Victoria Douglas scored layups to pull within a point, but the Lady Bucs held on for the 60-59 win.
KEY STATS:• Lee scored her 22 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including a career-best 6-of-7 from three-point range. She added four rebounds and two assists.
• Reeves scored 15 points with 10 rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Madison Luckett (Memphis, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) hauled in 10 rebounds to go with two assists and two steals.
• The Lady Bucs shot 35.1 percent (20-of-57) overall and 36 percent (9-of-25) from three-point range.
• Stillman shot 41.4 percent (24-of-58) from the field and 33.3 percent (6-of-18) from beyond the arc.
• CBU out-rebounded Stillman 40-35, including a 10-7 edge in offensive rebounds, but they committed 17 turnovers to the Lady Tigers' 13.
WHAT'S NEXT:The Lady Bucs return to action tomorrow afternoon at Union as they face Lane at 1 p.m. Their home opener is set for Thursday night at 5 p.m. against Lee.
