ARKADELPHIA, Ark.-The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs dropped a pair of games in the OBU/HSU Ronnie Hawkins Invitational Sunday, losing 8-0 to Arkansas-Monticello and 5-2 to host Ouachita Baptist.
GAME 1:WHAT HAPPENED:Arkansas-Monticello (2-2) scored runs in four different innings and held the Lady Bucs (1-5) scoreless on five hits.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• The Cotton Blossoms scored the only runs they would need before the game's first out. After a pair of walks, an RBI single brought one run in and an error allowed a second to score and give UAM a 2-0 lead.
• UAM tacked on three more in the fifth on two singles, two doubles and a walk.
• The Cotton Blossoms scored a two in the sixth on five singles, and they set the final margin with one run in the seventh on a double, a single and an error.
KEY STATS:•
Jennifer Gonzalez (Covina, Calif./Charter Oak HS) went 1-for-2 with a double and a walk.

Kylie Steagall (San Diego, Calif./Steele Canyon HS) went 1-for-3 with a double.
• Steagall also held UAM to one unearned run in an inning and a third of relief.
GAME 2:WHAT HAPPENED:Host Ouachita Baptist scored five runs in the middle innings to break a scoreless tie and defeat the Lady Bucs 5-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• Ouachita (3-3) opened the scoring in the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring twice on two singles and a double.
• The Lady Tigers scored two more in the fifth inning, on a double, a single and a passed ball.
• OBU added another run in the sixth on a walk and a single.
• The Lady Bucs shaved two runs off the final margin in the seventh.
Gabrielle Sereika (Rochester, N.Y./Aquinas Institute) led off with a walk, and Steagall followed with a single to left, moving pinch-runner
Gabriela Nodine (Redlands, Calif./Redlands HS) to second.
Ali Hare (Cape Coral, Fla./Ida Baker HS) hit an RBI double down the right field line to score Nodine, and Steagall scored on a sacrifice fly by
Taylor Rosa-Ramon (Ewa Beach, Hawaii/James Campbell HS).
KEY STATS:• Hare doubled in her only plate appearance as pinch hitter.
• Sereika went 1-for-1 with two walks.
WHAT'S NEXT:The Lady Bucs start a 10-game homestand Friday at noon as they host Evangel (Mo.) for a doubleheader.
