Lady Flames Drop Lady Bucs 75-60

CLEVELAND, Tenn.-Host Lee University out-scored the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs 37-11 over a 14-minute span Saturday afternoon to seize control and claim a 75-60 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Lady Bucs (6-11, 4-9 GSC) started strong, using a 10-4 burst to take a 17-11 lead on a Samantha Reeves (Somerville, Tenn./Fayette Academy) three-point play with 36 secodns remaining in the first quarter.
• CBU stayed on top into the second quarter, leading 25-20 on a Courtney Banks (Memphis, Tenn./White Station HS) triple with 6:34 remaining before the Lady Flames (13-5, 10-3) began the decisive run with an Erin Walsh jumper.
• Lee would out-score the Lady Bucs 13-5 over the final six minutes of the second quarter, then they opened the third quarter with a 14-6 run to open a 57-36 advantage on a Haris Price fastbreak layup with 2:46 remaining in the third quarter. CBU never came closer than 13 in the fourth quarter.

KEY STATS:
• Banks scored a team-high 22 points with four rebounds and two assists.
• Reeves tacked on 13 with three rebounds before fouling out in 27 minutes.
Ashley Schaefer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore HS) notched 10 points with four rebounds, two steals and two assists.
Rachel Lee (Jackson, Tenn./Jackson Christian School) nabbed five steals to go with five points.
• CBU shot 34.6 percent (18-of-52) for the game, including 28.6 percent (4-of-14) from three-point range.
• Lee was 41.2 percent (28-of-68) overall, including 37.0 percent (10-of-27) from beyond the arc.
• The Lady Flames held a 48-29 edge in rebounding, including a 19-5 edge in offensive boards, while they committed 15 turnovers to CBU's 14.

The Lady Bucs return to action Thursday night at 5 p.m. as they host Mississippi College.
