Lady Bucs Blank Chargers 2-0 On Senior Day

MEMPHIS-The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs scored a pair of second-half goals as they celebrated Senior Day with a 2-0 win over visiting Alabama Huntsville Sunday afternoon at Signaigo Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
* In the 64th minute, CBU (4-8-0, 4-4-0 GSC) used a set piece to break through on the scoreboard. Emily Woods (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) sent a corner kick to Lauren Magdefrau just beyond the back post. Magdefrau headed the pass back to (Raleigh, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons HS)Sinead Tierney# in the center of the box, and Tierney scored her second goal of the season.
* The Lady Bucs put it out of reach in the final seconds. Anna Della Rosa (Collierville, Tenn./Houston HS) dribbled into space on the left side, then sent a cross to Nikesha Mitchell (Toronto, Ontario/Cedarbrae C.I.) at the top of the 18-yard box, and Mitchell scored in the right side of the net for her second goal of the season.

KEY STATS:
* Each team took 13 shots for the game, with UAH holding an 8-6 edge in shots on goal. CBU out-shot the Chargers (6-6-0, 2-5-0) 10-5 in the second half.
* Seniors Autumn Woods (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) and Emily Wragg (Nottingham, England/The Becket School) combined for an eight-save shutout on their Senior Day. Woods made five saves in the first half, while Woods made three stops in the second half.

NOTABLE:
* CBU honored nine seniors in pregame ceremonies: Autumn Woods (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS), Emily Wragg (Nottingham, England/The Becket School), Sydney Piper (Germantown, Tenn./Houston HS), Ingrid Mello (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/American School), Crissy Cornacchia (Toronto, Ontario/Birchmount Park), Ellen Garner (Pulaski, Tenn./Giles County HS), Carly Downing (Cordova, Tenn./St. Benedict HS), Natalia Amancio (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/American School) and Alex Swanson (Memphis, Tenn./Arlington HS).

WHAT'S NEXT:
The Lady Bucs play their next three on the road, beginning Friday night at 5:30 p.m. as they visit West Georgia. Their next home game is Wednesday, Oct. 26, when they host North Alabama at 5 p.m.
