FLORENCE, Ala.-The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs out-scored host North Alabama 18-12 over the final 5:31 as they rallied to claim a 68-64 win Saturday afternoon and lock up the No. 7 seed in next month's Gulf South Conference Tournament.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• After a back-and-forth first 15 minutes, the Lady Bucs (11-14, 9-12 GSC) closed the first half on a 17-5 run over the final 5:04 to take a 34-26 lead when
Kierra Richardson (Munford, Tenn./Munford HS) scored as time expired.
• CBU stretched its lead to a dozen when
Courtney Banks (Memphis, Tenn./White Station HS) sank a triple to put them ahead 46-34 with 3:13 remaining in the third quarter.
• The Lions (5-21, 4-17) answered with a 16-2 run to take a 52-50 lead on a Keke Gunter three-point play with 6:43 to play in the game.

Samantha Reeves (Somerville, Tenn./Fayette Academy) answered with a basket to tie the game, and
Rachel Lee (Jackson, Tenn./Jackson Christian School) buried a three-pointer with 4:45 remaining to give CBU the lead for good. Those baskets sparked a 14-4 run capped by a Banks layup that gave CBU a 64-56 lead with 57 seconds remaining, and the Lions came no closer than five points until a Katelyn Nunley basket in the final seconds.
KEY STATS:• Reeves matched her career-high with 26 points to go with 11 rebounds, two blocks and two assists. She was 9-of-17 from the floor, including 1-of-3 from three-point range, and she was 7-of-10 at the free throw line. Reeves tied her career-high, previously set Jan. 9 in CBU's first meeting with North Alabama this season.

Ashley Schaefer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore HS) scored 15 points with five assists, four rebounds and two steals. She was 7-of-9 from the floor, making her only three-point attempt.
• Banks tacked on 10.
• Richardson posted career-highs of nine points, seven rebounds, three assists and 36 minutes played.
• The Lady Bucs shot 47.3 percent (26-of-55) overall, including 38.9 percent (7-of-18) from three-point range.
• UNA shot 41.1 percent (23-of-56) for the game, including 41.7 percent (5-of-12) from beyond the arc.
• Each team grabbed 33 rebounds, with UNA holding a 9-6 edge in offensive boards, and the Lions forced 12 CBU turnovers while committing 10.
GSC TOURNAMENT PICTURE:With the win, CBU clinches the No. 7 seed in the GSC Tournament. They will visit the No. 2 seed in the quarterfinals Tuesday, March 1. Delta State, Shorter and Lee are all tied for second place at 15-6. CBU will visit Delta State if DSU defeats Mississippi College Thursday, or they will face the winner of Saturday's game between Shorter and Lee if DSU loses at Mississippi College.
