CLEVELAND, Tenn.-Host Lee became the first team to shoot over 50 percent from the field against the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs this season as they rolled to an 86-68 win Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• After
Rachel Lee (Jackson, Tenn./Jackson Christian School) opened the game with a three-pointer, the Lady Flames (13-6, 8-5 GSC) answered with a 13-0 run to take a 13-3 lead they would never relinquish on an Anna Woodford triple with 6:01 remaining in the first quarter.
• The Lady Bucs (11-7, 8-6) used a 10-2 burst to close within 15-13 on a pair of
Rafaella Angelidou (Thessaloniki, Greece/Aristoteleio Kollegeio) free throws with 1:53 remaining in the quarter.
• Lee used a 14-0 second-quarter run to extend their lead to 37-18 on a Shelby Brown layup with 4:30 remaining in the first half. A 10-0 run in the third quarter stretched their advantage to 56-32 on an Abby Bertram layup with 4:51 remaining in the quarter.
• A 17-7 run capped by a Lee triple with 9:21 remaining in the game brought CBU within 14 points at 63-49. They came as close as 12 when another Lee triple cut the deficit to 77-65 with 3:02 remaining, but the Lady Flames outscored CBU 9-3 over the final three minutes to salt away the victory.

• Lee scored a career-high 26 points to go with four steals.

Madison Luckett (Memphis, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) scored 14 with four rebounds and three assists.

Sara Owen (Dyersburg, Tenn./Dyer County HS) tacked on seven, adding four rebounds and three assists.
• The Lady Bucs shot 34.5 percent (19-of-55) from the field, including 37.5 percent (9-of-24) from three-point range. The Lady Flamers shot 50.8 percent (30-of-59) overall, including 37.5 percent (12-of-32) from beyond the arc.
• Lee out-rebounded the Lady Bucs 42-21, including a 12-5 edge in offensive boards. The Lady Bucs forced 18 turnovers while committing 11.
