MEMPHIS-Visiting Alabama Huntsville claimed a four-set win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Saturday afternoon at Canale Arena.
UAH 3, CBU 1 (25-22, 25-20, 14-25, 25-21):
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Chargers (22-10, 10-4 GSC) took early leads of 4-0 and 10-3 early, and they built their advantage to as many as 10 points at 19-9. The Lady Bucs (14-17, 6-8) used a 13-5 run to pull within 24-22 on an
Alexa Henderson (Prairie du Sac, Wis./Sauk Prairie HS) kill before a UAH kill clinched the set.
• The second set saw 14 ties and eight lead changes, and it remained tied as late as 17-17 on an
Emma Lenoir (Chattanooga, Tenn./East Hamilton HS) kill. UAH answered with five straight to take a 22-17 lead, and they held on for a 25-20 win.
• CBU jumped to leads of 4-0 and 7-1 in the third set as they never allowed UAH closer than three points again. After the Chargers cut a 19-10 CBU lead to 20-14, the Lady Bucs ended the set with five straight points, capped by a
Gennah Schoen (Portland, Ore./David Douglas HS) kill to win 25-14.
• The third set saw several early ties before UAH seized control with a 5-1 burst that gave them a 9-5 edge. The Lady Bucs used a 5-1 spurt of their own to knot the set at 12 on a
Kapria Manning (Olive Branch, Miss./Center Hill HS) kill, but UAH answered with an 8-1 run to take a 20-13 lead. CBU scored five straight to close within 20-18 on back-to-back Lenoir kills, then three straight capped by a double-block by Lenoir and
Mary Kathryn Miller (Fulton, Ky./Fulton City HS) trimmed the deficit to 22-21, but the Chargers scored the final three points to clinch the victory.
KEY STATS:
• Lenoir hit .190 with a team-high 14 kills, adding 12 digs and two aces as she returned to the lineup after missing three matches with an injury.
• Schoen hit .200 with 12 kills.

Erica Maurer (St. Louis, Mo./Ursuline Academy) added 11 kills.
• Henderson racked up 45 assists, 13 digs, two aces, two blocks and two kills.
• Miller had four kills and nine total blocks, tying the school single-match record with six solo blocks. Her nine total blocks were one off her career-high, set twice last season.
• Manning notched a team-best 21 digs with seven kills.

Blythe Clausen (Hendersonvile, Tenn./Pope John Paul II HS) garnered 17 digs with three assists and two aces.

Ke'alohilani Wong (Honolulu, Hawaii/Kamehameha HS) added 11 digs.

The Lady Bucs wrap up the regular season with two matches next week. They visit Union Tuesday night at 6 p.m. before coming home to celebrate Senior Night against Auburn-Montgomery Saturday night at 6 p.m.
