Lady Bisons Shut Down Lady Bucs 61-37

SEARCY, Ark.-Host Harding held the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs to a season-low 20.8 percent from the field on their way to a 61-37 win Saturday night in CBU's final non-conference game of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• CBU (2-6) opened the game with an 8-3 run capped by a pair of Mikaela Blissett (Oran, Mo./Scott County Central HS) free throws with 6:37 remaining in the first quarter.
• The Lady Bisons (4-6) answered with a 9-1 burst to take a 12-9 lead on a Peyton Padgett layup with 49 seconds remaining.
• After the teams traded leads for the first four minutes of the second quarter, Harding took the lead for good as Sydney Layrock capped a 7-0 burst with a layup that gave them a 23-17 edge with 3:40 remaining int he half. 
• Harding put it out of reach in the third quarter, outscoring CBU 21-7 as they extended their lead to as many as 21 points. CBU never came closer than 17 again.

KEY STATS:
• Brynne Lytle (Jackson, Tenn./Trinity Christian Academy) led the Lady Bucs with 10 points, adding five rebounds and three steals.
• Kenzie Jones (Park Hills, Mo./Central HS) tacked on eight points with five rebounds and a game-high four steals.
• The Lady Bucs shot just 20.8 percent (10-of-48) for the game, including 18.2 percent (4-of-22) from three-point range. Harding finished 39.7 percent (23-of-58) overall, including 30.4 percent (7-of-23) from beyond the arc.
• Harding out-rebounded the Lady Bucs 46-31, including a 15-10 edge in offensive rebounds. CBU forced 19 Lady Bison turnovers while committing 17.

WHAT'S NEXT:
The Lady Bucs return to GSC play Monday night, Dec. 18, when they visit Union at 6 p.m. Their next home game will be Tuesday, Jan. 2, when they host Auburn-Montgomery at 5 p.m.
