CARROLLTON, Ga.-The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs scored a pair of first-half goals as they rallied from an early deficit to take a 2-1 win at West Georgia Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Wolves (1-2-0, 1-1-0 GSC) struck first in the ninth minute as Katie Phillips headed in a Katie Phillips corner kick.
• CBU (2-2-0, 1-1-0) equalized just five minutes later, when
Nikesha Mitchell (Toronto, Ontario/Cedarbrae C.I.) found
Lauren Magdefrau (Raleigh, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons HS) for a goal in the 14th minute.
• Mitchell scored the game-winner in the 32nd minute as she scored an unassisted goal to set the final margin.
KEY STATS:
• West Georgia out-shot the Lady Bucs 25-12, including a 15-2 edge in the second half. CBU held a 5-3 edge in shots on goal, however.
•
Autumn Woods (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) made two saves for CBU.
