MEMPHIS - The Christian Brothers University women's basketball team started the game on an 11-0 run, and did not look back, in a 73-53 victory over Shorter, on Thursday at Canale Arena. The Lady Bucs have now won three of their last four, and completed a series sweep of Shorter.
HOW IT HAPPENED:Â
- CBU (8-10, 5-8 GSC) started the game with an 11-0 run, led by Brynne Lytle (4 points) and Lauren Taylor (4 points), which helped it take a 20-12 lead after the opening 10 minutes.
- Taylor led the scoring for CBU, in the second quarter, with seven points, pushing the CBU lead to 39-23 going into halftime.
- Â Kenzie Jones caught fire, scoring 13 points in the third quarter, and extended the CBU lead to 62-42.
- Raven Fair scored seven points in the final quarter to help Shorter (1-18, 0-12), but the Lady Hawks never got within 16 points in the final frame.
KEY STATS:
- Jones played well on both ends of the floor, scoring a team high 20 points (7-15 FG, 2-3 3PT), with seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block. She has scored double-digit points in nine consecutive games.
- Lytle finished the contest with 19 points, three rebounds, and two steals, including a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line.
- Taylor had a well-rounded game as she tallied 14 points (6-10 FG), five rebounds, four blocks, and a steal. Taylor's four blocks are tied for fifth-most blocks in CBU single game history.

The Lady Bucs will look to keep their momentum going when they host West Georgia on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. UWG defeated CBU 55-50 on Jan. 26.
