MONTEVALLO, Ala. – No. 2 seed Montevallo scored a pair of goals in a just over a minute, in the first half, and held on for a 2-0 victory over the No. 7 seed Christian Brothers University women's soccer team, in the opening round of the Gulf South Conference Tournament, on Tuesday at Georgine Lemak Field.
On Saturday, in the regular season finale, Montevallo defeated the Lady Bucs 5-0.
CBU finished it's season 10-8-1 with a 6-6-1 record in conference contests. The 10 wins are tied for the most since the 2015 and 2017 squads finished with the same total.
HOW IT HAPPENED
5' | Montevallo opened the scoring when Kira Bochard deflected a shot that was sent in by Medhali Hernandez. Bochard's shot appeared to be cleared off the line, but the decision went the way of the hosts.
