CARROLLTON, Ga. -- West Georgia combined for 14 runs and 21 hits to help sweep a doubleheader from the Christian Brothers University softball team, in non-conference action, on Wednesday at University Field. The Wolves took the opener 10-1 (5) and used a three-run first inning to win the nightcap 4-0.
GAME 1: West Georgia 10 (13-11), CBU 1 (5-16) (5)
GAME CHANGER:
- West Georgia scored four runs in the second, and fourth innings to pull away from the Lady Bucs.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Wolves finished the game with an 11-5 edge in hits.

Ashley Dyer (3-for-3) led CBU at the plate. Dyer's first hit of the game was a leadoff triple.
- MarquishaSanders (2-for-2) recorded the other hits for the Lady Bucs.

Rachel Whitley (1-1) allowed four runs, on four hits, in one inning of work. Two other CBU pitchers were used in relief.
- CBU batters struck out 11 times.
KEY PLAYS:
- In the opening frame,
Ashley Dyer led off the game with a triple, but UWG pitcher RayaMoncusstruck out the side to end the threat.
- UWG raced out to a 4-0 lead in the second, scoring a pair of runs on an RBI single and two more on wild pitches.
- CBU scored its lone run of the game in the third on an RBI single by Dyer, that scored Sanders.
- The Wolves made the score 10-1 in the fourth, using a two-RBI double and a two-run home run.
- CBU loaded the bases in the fifth, but Moncus forced a pop out to end the game.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Dyer recorded her sixth triple of the season in just 21 games. Her six triples lead the GSC and is the second-highest total in CBU single season history. She also
leads the team with nine multi-hit games.
- Sanders recorded her third multi-hit game of the season.
Game 2: UWG 4 (14-11) CBU 0 (5-17)
GAME CHANGER:
- A three-run home run by Madison Chambers gave UWG three of its four runs.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- UWG outhit CBU 10-7.
- Six players recorded at least one hit for the Lady Bucs.

Mackenzie Puckett (2-for-3) was the only CBU player to record multiple hits. Her double was the lone extra base hit.
- CBU left nine runners on base.
- The Wolves finished with three doubles and a home run.

Sierra Anderson (1-6) went the distance in the circle, allowing four runs on 10 hits.
- LexiClose and Katie Foote combined to strike out 11 CBU batters.
KEY PLAYS:
- In the top of the first, the Lady Bucsloaded the bases, with just one out, but failed to score.
- Chambers home run, in the bottom of the first, gave the hosts a 3-0 lead.
- CBU left runners on base in all but one inning (seventh).
- The Wolves added an insurance run, on an RBI single, in the sixth.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Anderson's complete game was her second of the season. That stat currently leads the team.
- Dyer has recorded at least one hit in all but six games.

- The Lady Bucsare scheduled to remain in the Peach State, as they travel to Shorter for a three-game Gulf South Conference series. The teams are scheduled to play
a doubleheader on Saturday, March 9 and will finish the series on Sunday. First pitch on Saturday is scheduled for Noon.
