Union Shoots Way Past Lady Bucs

MEMPHIS  - Visiting Union shot 58 percent from the floor and knocked down 13 three pointers in a 96-62 victory over the Christian Brothers University women's basketball team, on Thursday night at Canale Arena. 

Despite the loss, the Lady Bucs have not been eliminated from postseason play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Lady Bulldogs put up 23 points in both the first and second quarters, leading 46-29 at the break. 
  • The visitors added to their lead with a 25-18 third quarter. 
  • Union led by as many as 21 points in the third quarter, and increased the advantage to 71-47 when it hit a three pointer with 12 seconds left in the period. 
  • The Bulldogs opened up a 36 point lead in the fourth quarter and scored the last seven points, over the final 3:27 to create the final margin. 

KEY STATS | NOTEABLES:
  • Union finished the first half 18-of-33 from the floor and 7-of-11 from three point range.
  • The Lady Bucs were held to just 8-for-29 in the opening half. 
  • Union ended the game 38-of-66 from the floor and 13-for-22 from beyond the arc. 
  • CBU finished the game just 20-of-60 from the floor and 6-for-24 (25 percent) from long range. 
  • The Lady Bucs were 16-of-19 from the free throw line.
