Early Goal Leads West Alabama Past Lady Bucs

MEMPHIS - West Alabama scored just nine seconds after the opening whistle, and held on for a 1-0 win over the Christian Brothers University women's soccer team, on Friday, at Signaigo Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
1' | Dana Cruz took advantage of a CBU defensive miscue, and chipped the ball over the approaching Riley Chafin to score what proved to be the lone goal of the contest. 
HALF | The Lady Bucs trailed 1-0 at intermission. Both teams finished a defensive led first half with just three shots. 
76' | After CBU recorded five shots in the next 30 minutes, the visitors were awarded a penalty kick, but Chafin was up to the challenge. The All-Gulf South Conference goalkeeper kept the Lady Bucs in the match saving the penalty, and the ensuing follow-up. 
FINAL | The Lady Bucs recorded four shots the rest of the way, but were unable to score on UWA goalkeeper Tabitha Weldon.
