Mississippi College Hits Way Past Lady Bucs

MEMPHIS - Visiting Mississippi College scored at least one run in all but one inning in a 10-1 (6) win over the Christian Brothers University softball team, on Sunday, at Saint Benedict at Auburndale High School. 

With the victory, the Lady Choctaws earned the series win. 

FINAL: MC 10 (14-12, 12-8 GSC) CBU 1 (7-21, 7-17 GSC) (6)

GAME CHANGER:
MC took advantage of 13 hits, including four apiece from Rayne Minor and Gracie Trahan. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
MC outhit the Lady Bucs 13-4.
The Lady Choctaws took advantage of three CBU miscues. 
Josie Bond led the way for CBU, going 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Mackenzie Puckett drove in the lone run of the game for the Lady Bucs. 
After earning a complete game victory in game one, CBU starting pitcher Macy Cumming allowed four runs, on eight hits, in 3.1 innings.  

KEY PLAYS:
MC threatened in the first, putting runners on the corners with just one out, but it lined into a double play to end the inning. 
Trailing 4-0 in the fourth, CBU got on the scoreboard after an RBI single by Mackenzie Puckett
The visitors plated three runs in the fifth and sixth innings to finish the scoring. 

UP NEXT:
The Lady Bucs are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, April 13, when they travel to Searcy, Ark., to face Harding for a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
