MEMPHIS - No. 2 Valdosta State hit seven home runs in a 15-2 (5) victory over the Christian Brothers University softball team, on Sunday, at Saint Benedict at Auburndale High School.

Kendall Westbrooks hit her team-leading fifth home run of the season.

Gabby Schultz had the other hits for CBU.
KEY PLAYS:
After the leadoff batter reached on an error, Nicole Pennington hit the first of her three home runs to give the visitors a 2-0 lead.
Logan Hill hit the second home run of the inning to give VSU a 3-0 lead.
CBU scored its lone runs of the contest in the bottom of the first, when
Kendall Westbrooks smacked a two-run shot to left field.
After plating another run in the second, VSU exploded for nine runs in the third inning. The Lady Blazers hit three home runs in the inning.
The visitors added a pair of runs in the fifth to finish the scoring.
NOTEABLES:
The two-run home run by Westbrooks were the first runs allowed by VSU pitcher Samantha Richards in 28 innings.
The seven Gulf South Conference wins by a CBU team since the 2013 edition recorded the same number.
