ROME, Ga. - The Christian Brothers University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision at Shorter, on Friday, at Winthrop-King Centre.
Shorter 3, CBU 0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-17)
WHAT HAPPENED: Shorter finished the match with a .390 hitting percentage, while the Lady Bucs hit just -.024. The hosts finished the match with just nine attack errors.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the first set, the score was tied at seven, but the hosts went on a 12-3 run to earn the win.
- Shorter jumped out to an early 11-5 lead, and never looked back as they took the second set 25-12. The Hawks recorded a .571 hitting percentage in the set.
- In the third set, CBU raced out to an 8-3 lead, but Shorter responded with a 15-2 spurt to earn the 25-17 win.
KEY STATS:
- Aldon Pilz led the Lady Bucs with 15 assists.
- Four different Lady Bucs finished with four kills.
- Kimmy Hammond had 11 digs and one assist.
